About Veronica

Veronica Legarreta established the Legarreta Law Firm bringing nearly two decades of litigation and negotiation experience to her current practice which is focused on criminal defense cases and family law matters. Veronica has worked with clients at all phases of the litigation process and is an empathetic and fierce advocate committed to fighting for a fair and just outcome no matter how challenging the circumstance.

Veronica started her career as a prosecutor in the Bexar County District Attorney's office standing up for victims and public safety. As a prosecutor, Veronica prosecuted misdemeanor and felony crimes. She worked side by side with law enforcement agencies and with groups such as Mother Against Drunk Driving (MADD). Veronica has tried to verdict over 100 jury trials.

Veronica is a current sitting Magistrate Judge. Her responsibilities include informing defendants of charges and rights; granting arrest warrants, search warrants, and protective orders; and deciding if there's enough evidence to proceed with charges.

Throughout her career, Veronica has repeatedly been recognized as one of San Antonio's top Criminal Defense/DWI Attorneys, has been honored by SA Scene Magazine as one of the Best S.A. Female Lawyers, and has been recognized by the Latino American Who's Who for her work in advancing the Latino community.
