Veronica believes that public safety does not start in the courthouse. She. knows it starts with a strong community, opportunity and trust. Veronica devotes her time outside of the courthouse to ensuring Bexar County IS a better place.

She is the Chair of the Hispanic Women's Network of Texas San Antonio Chapter and the Chair-Elect of the Hispanic Lawyer Section of the State Bar of Texas. In these positions, she has helped raise funds for scholarships for Latinas and for indigent legal representation. Veronica is also a proud Rotarian with the Rotary Club San Antonio Pearl. As a Rotarian, Veronica has helped assemble and serve meals to Bexar County's homeless community.

Veronica also donates her money, time, and talents to Operation Christmas Child, the Northeast Senior Assistance Center and speaks at various schools throughout Bexar County.
